Dave is a person living and working in Seattle, WA. He used to live in Philadelphia, PA and he Received his BFA from Tyler School of Art (Philadelphia, PA) in Printmaking and photography in 2007.
Dave Montgomery makes bright, colorful paintings based on landscapes, both real and hoped to be real. Drawing inspiration equally from impressionism and abstract expression, his work is focused mainly on color relationship and breaking an image down into it's most basic components. In addition to traditional painting, Dave also employs an invented technique of combining paint with cut paint samples acquired (free of charge) from home improvement box stores, creating a new take on color creation and where modern art, our world, and the manufactured collide.
